Women Development Cell

The Women Development Cell (WDC) was set up in 2011 according to the supreme court guidelines arising out of the famous "vishakha" judgement of 1997. Set up for the primary purpose of protection of women from sexual harassment at workplace. Till today the WDC has reached out to maximum number of college, teachers & students & ensured that Women Development Cell are formed in every college.

The prime role at the WDC is to deal with the cases at sexual harassment received from female students, teaching & nonteaching staff at the university & affiliated colleges & institutions. WDC of our college organize several programs such as eassay competition, poster making competition, lectures and workshops conducted by doctors & social workers to make students aware of physical & mental harassment around and importance of selfrespect. The foundation of Women Development Cell at the university is governed by the vice-chancellors directions issued under section 14(8) of the Maharashtra Universities Act 1994.
